Edge Code Pro Scam in Sri Lanka Exposed
This is one of the most sophisticated scams I’ve ever seen.
They used a fake news website.
They faked an endorsement from the former President of Sri Lanka, Ranil Wickramasinghe.
They deepfaked Dhammika Perera, Chathura Alwis, and Ashan Malalasekera.
They cloned Ada Derana’s entire brand — and even forged BOC checks.
All of this just floating around on facebook.com.
And they did it all… to steal your Rs. 74,000 or maybe even more.
🧠 The Premise: Too Good to Be True
The scam is centered around a fake investment platform called Edge Code Pro, supposedly a “Sri Lankan-made” AI tool that helps anyone earn:
- $250–$1,500 per week
- Rs. 10 lakhs from Rs. 74,000
- All with no experience, and no risk
They promise “passive income,” “financial freedom,” and even early retirement — all starting with just $250 (or Rs. 74,000).
It’s emotionally manipulative, financially aggressive, and completely fake.
🧱 How the Scam Works
- A fake article appears — designed to look like AdaDerana.lk, a trusted local news source.
- It falsely claims the President of Sri Lanka, Ranil Wickremesinghe, has licensed Edge Code Pro.
- It shows fake interviews with:
- Ashan Malalasekera (in a business suit)
- Chathura Alwis (on his TV show)
- Dhammika Perera (as a trusted billionaire figure)
- The videos appear real — but they’re not. They’re deepfakes. Both the faces and voices are AI-generated.
- Fake banking screenshots and dashboards show “proof” of income.
- The page ends with a classic trap: enter your phone number and deposit Rs. 74,000.
🎭 The People They Faked
Here are the real-life public figures the scammers used without consent:
👤 Ashan Malalasekera
- Reality: CEO of established companies in Sri Lanka
- Faked as: The “creator” of Edge Code Pro
- Used in: Promotional images, deepfake video
Deepfake quote:
“Looking to turn a small $250 investment into weekly payouts of up to $1,500 with Edge Code Pro — a trusted Sri Lankan platform? It’s absolutely possible…”
👤 Dhammika Perera
- Reality: One of Sri Lanka’s richest entrepreneurs
- Faked as: An enthusiastic Edge Code Pro supporter
- Used in: Deepfake video
Deepfake quote:
“A small investment of just Rs. 74,000 into weekly payouts of up to 10 lakhs. With Edge Code Pro, it’s possible…”
👤 Ranil Wickremesinghe
- Reality: Former President of Sri Lanka
- Faked as: Government official who “approved and licensed” the platform
- Used in: Fake quote and image

Fake quote on image:
“I personally approved and issued a license to Edge Code Pro… This is truly a financial miracle.”
👤 Chathura Alwis
- Reality: Well-known Ada Derana TV personality
- Faked as: Interview host endorsing Edge Code Pro
- Used in: Deepfake video styled as “Talk with Chathura”

Deepfake quote:
“Coming up next is Ashan Malalasekera, one of Sri Lanka’s most respected business minds. He’s here to share how Edge Code Pro is helping Sri Lankans earn up to $1,500 weekly…”
🖼️ Fake Site, Fake Logo, Fake Everything

💬 Why It Works
This scam works because it:
- Steals trust — from Ada Derana, the president, and celebrities
- Uses AI deepfakes — fooling people with real faces and voices
- Preys on financial pain — promising a quick escape from poverty
- Pushes urgency — “limited license”, “early access”, “register now”
But it’s all smoke and mirrors. There is no Edge Code Pro.
No license. No magic AI platform.
Only a stolen Rs. 74,000.
🚨 If You Were Scammed
You are not stupid.
You are not alone.
This is a new level of digital fraud — and the scammers want you to stay silent.

🧨 Final Warning from DEBUGGER
These aren’t just scams.
They’re warfare on truth — using AI, media forgery, and stolen identities to weaponize hope.
If we don’t expose them, they win.
And if you’re reading this with Rs. 74,000 in your bank…
Hold it tight.
And pass this on before someone you love gives it away.
Stay sharp. Stay safe. Stay HackAware.
